- At a meeting of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters locomotive firemen in Washington, D. C., Ben McLaurin talks about the importance of paying dues to the Provisional Committee for the Organization of Colored Locomotive Firemen, Brakemen and Switchmen. Several retired and active porters and firemen express their grievances regarding dues, membership, seniority, promotions, while some talk at length about their experiences on the railroad as well. McLaurin reads the financial report of the Provisional Committee and Bennie Smith offers a few words of greetings.
