- James McBride Dabbs, a guest-speaker of the National Committee for Rural Schools Annual Luncheon, held in New York City, 1956, talks about southern liberalism, who the southern liberal is and what it means in regard to education and the present racial crisis in the south. He also talks about the definition of education, the history of liberalism, and the changing attitude of today's liberal. Dabbs stresses the need for civil rights laws, racial justice and discusses what is required for lasting racial equality.
