- Summary
- During the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters New York Division convenes. E. D. Nixon, the president and organizer of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, discusses what moved him to action and how he went about organizing this nationally recognized and successful civil rights protest. He explains what is involved in this expansive operation and also the expenses it incurrs. Nixon's speech is followed by a question and answer session regarding benefits and coverage led by a representative of Travelers Insurance Company. The meeting closes with members singing John Brown's Body.
