- Biography
- Anne Lowenstein Marx (1913-2004 ) was an American poet and lecturer. She emigrated from Germany to the U.S. in 1936, worked briefly as a physiotherapist in New York City, and started writing poems in 1953. Over two thousand of her poems appeared in periodicals and reviews as well as in eleven books of her collected works. Her lectures concerned the art and publication of poetry and she gave readings and organized workshops. She served as vice-president of the Poetry Society of America in 1978 and regional president of the National League of American Pen Women in 1992.
