Jooss speaks with Terry about the creation of The green table, including its origins: the figure of death, which he envisioned as a role for himself; and the need to create a new work for a choreographic competition [Concours de Chorégraphie en souvenir de Jean Börlin, organized by the Archives Internationales de la Danse]; the process of choreographing The green table, in collaboration with composer Fritz Cohen [Frederic A.
