- Agnes de Mille discusses her early career; the development of her choreography; the relationship of choreography to music as in her dances, Three virgins and a devil, and Rodeo; her use of folk dance material, with examples from Rodeo; the different problems of choreographing for ballet, concert dance, and musical comedy; her dances Gigue and Chorale, to the music of J. S. Bach [Eigtheenth century suite]; the Funeral dance from the musical comedy, Brigadoon. Dance demonstrations: Gigue and Chorale (De Mille); Funeral dance from Brigadoon (Lidija Franklin); May day dance (De Mille); two numbers from Gentlemen prefer blondes (Evelyn Taylor). In conclusion De Mille discusses Fall River legend, a section of which was then to be performed [ends abruptly].
