Irving Deakin speaks about dance in Spain; the two major styles of Spanish dance, the Iberian or classical and the gypsy or flamenco; introduces La Argentinita and Anton Dolin; Dolin speaks about Serge Diaghilev's love of Spanish dance; La Argentinita's New York debut; her London debut; her artistry; La Argentinita as a person [station identification]; Rex Benwehr introduces the guitarist Carlos Montoya; Montoya plays a Sevillana. Deakin introduces La Argentinita; she speaks about and performs several dances including: Soleares, Alegrías, Boledillas, and Las sevillanas accompanied by both what appears to be live guitar playing and recorded music. Deakin speaks about dance in Andalusia and the composer Manuel de Falla; Yolande de Manziarly plays Manuel de Falla's Andalusia; La Argentinita performs several folk dance-songs of Castille, Madrid, and Peru, including a Seguidillas of Madrid from ca. 1880, to the accompaniment of de Manziarly's piano playing and her own castanet playing. Anton Dolin participates as a guest speaker. La Argentinita, classical and flamenco Spanish dancer, described and performed several dances and songs from her repertory. Carlos Montoya participated as a guitarist. Yolande de Manziarly participated as a guitarist.
