- Disc 1 (ca. 54 min.). Begins abruptly. Leonide Massine speaks with Marilyn Hunt about the technical system he developed for teaching dancers choreographed movement, including with respect to the expression of emotions; the revival of his ballet Parade by the Joffrey Ballet; teaching the theory of composition at the Royal Ballet School; plans to teach in Rochester, N.Y. [trails off and continues directly on disc 2] .
- Disc 2 (ca. 58 min.). Leonide Massine speaks with Marilyn Hunt about how much he still has to learn about choreography; current projects; including an all-Danish production of The red shoes; the original production of his ballet Tricorne [Three-cornered hat], including his research on Spanish dance and the collaboration with Picasso; unauthorized performances of his dances; the original production of his ballet Parade including Serge Diaghilev's instructions to Jean Cocteau regarding the libretto; Cocteau as an artist; Diaghilev, including Massine's first meeting him; Massine's decision to leave Russia and join the Ballets Russes including his audition with Michel Fokine in St. Petersburg; meeting [Konstantin] Stanislavsky; his collaboration with Paul Hindemith [resulting in Nobilissima visione]; his book [ Massine on choreography; theory and exercises in composition, c1976]; briefly, Labonotation compared to Benesh notation.
