Summary

[Music, primarily percussion.]. Maurice Béjart speaks with Elinor Rogosin about his use of Indian music, for example in such works as Bhakti; various audience responses to his work Mass for the present time; reasons he chose to work as a ballet choreographer; [venue changes to a public space at the Brooklyn Academy of Music]; Rogosin speaks with audience members about their reactions to the performance by Béjart's company [Ballet du XXe Siècle] of his work, including Mass for the present time .

Interview with Maurice Béjart and with audience members at a performance of Béjart's work by his company (Ballet du XXe Siècle) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, between Jan. 27 and Jan. 30, 1971, conducted by Elinor Rogosin and subsequently broadcast on January 31, 1971 by radio station WBAI, New York on its series, Dance focus.
Sound quality is good. There are occasional brief gaps, and in the section where audience members are interviewed, considerable ambient noise.
