- Sandra Noll Hammond moderates a panel discussion on port de bras in which each member of the panel impersonates and represents the point of view of one of five historical figures: Pierre Rameau, Jean Georges Noverre, Carlo Blasis, E. A. Théleur and Agrippina Vaganova. The panel discussion was held on February 12, 1983 as part of the Society of Dance History Scholars Conference held at Ohio State University. Hammond introduces each panelist with the name of the respective historical figure he or she is impersonating, but the panelists are not otherwise identified. The recording is comprised of two discs: disc 1 (approximately 45 minutes) and disc 2 (approximately 2 minutes). The discussion continues directly from disc 1 to disc 2, which ends abruptly.
- Sound quality is fair overall. The volume is initially, and thereafter occasionally, very low. Also, there is continuous "tape hiss, which is loud on disc 2. However, for the most part, the speakers' voices are easily intelligible.
