SUMMARY: Composer Virgil Thomson discusses Satie's Socrate, with a set by Alexander Calder, and his own Four saints in three acts, libretto by Gertrude Stein, apropos of a forthcoming restaging of both works; recruiting Frederick Ashton to do the choreography for Four saints; describes the original production of Four saints; discusses Alexander Calder; Socrate. Recordings of selections from Socrate and Scene one of Four saints in three acts are played.
