Summary
Norbert Vesak discusses his background as a dancer and choreographer; his appointment as director of the Metropolitan Opera Ballet and his aims for the company; the problems of opera ballet; various current and proposed productions of the Metropolitan Opera. Recordings of The dance of the hours from Amilcare Ponchielli's La gioconda and selections from Robert Schumann's Carnaval are played. This music represents two ballets in the repertory of the Metropolitan Opera Ballet.
