SUMMARY: Reel 1. Walter Terry and Danish critic Ebbe Mørk discuss Hans Beck's contribution to the perpetuation of the Bournonville technique. Mørk translates an obituary of Auguste Bournonville. Monica Rude, of the Royal Theatre Library, translates a passage from Bournonville's memoir, My theatre life, in which he sets out his opinion of Russian technique and choreography. - Reel 2. Rude continues to translate excerpts from the memoir in which Bournonville describes St. Peterburg, dancers Andrea Kraetzmer and Lucile Grahn, a trip to Naples, the ballet Napoli, his childhood. - Reel 3. Rude translates Bournonville's description of Juliette Price; a biography of Betty Schnell Hennings; Bournonville on Ludvig Gade and Harald Scharf. She discusses Andrea Kraetzmer and translates passages on Vincenzo Galeotti, Lucile Grahn, Betty Hennings, Gade, Johannes Frøhlich, and J. L. Heiberg. - Reel 4. Rude translates Bournonville on Galeotti; a 1792 review of Antoine Bournonville's Copenhagen debut; critic Kragh-Jacobsen's article on Poul Funck; Charlotte Bournonville's description of Jenny Lind and Hans Christian Andersen; Bournonville's recollections of King Frederick VI and the set for the ballet Valdemar. - Reel 5. Rude discusses the set for Valdemar and translates artist Kjel Abell's 1934 article on Bournonville.
