Charles Weidman speaks with Selma Jeanne Cohen about Doris Humphrey's technique of fall and recovery including its origins and the possible influence of Ronny Johansson; Humphrey's five choreographic forms; working with her; what is referred to as the Humphrey hand; his farm; Pauline Chellis, including an anecdote about her and Sol Hurok; costumes; Humphrey in comic roles; her retirement from dancing; a reception he gave for Ruth St. Denis; [ends abruptly but continues directly on disc 2].

- Interview with Charles Weidman conducted by Selma Jeanne Cohen on May 13, 1971 in New York City. This interview was conducted as part of the research for Cohen's completion of Humphrey's autobiography: Doris Humphrey: an artist first (Middletown, CT: Wesleyan University Press, 1972).
