- SUMMARY: Cassette 1. Conference participants are introduced, including John Kerr and Stephanie Singer of the National Endowment for the Arts, Gene Winter from the John D. Rockefeller III Fund, Bella Lewitzky, Virginia Tanner, Shirley Ririe, and Susan Hunter. Gene Winter describes Project Impact and the Artists-in-Schools program. Discussion follows of the program in Eugene, Oregon and logistical concerns for school administrators and classroom teachers. Virginia Tanner explains the program to dance teachers. Bella Lewitzky and members of the Nevada State Department of Education talk about the state's "Institute Day" -- Cassette 2. Lewitzky talks about her experiences in the Nevada program, how to broaden the program, its needs and intentions, the role of arts in the schools. Gene Winter discusses evaluation procedures -- Cassette 3. Charles Reinhart leads a group discussion of problems and solutions. Tape ends abruptly.
