- Cassette 1. Recorded June 23, 1992. Ms. Cowles discusses her first exposure to dance; early classes; going to New York and training at the School of American Ballet; Hanya Holm; her decision to attend the University of Wisconsin; Margaret H'Doubler; the formation of the Wisconsin Dance Group; marrying Edmundo Flores and moving to Mexico for two years; meeting Conlon Nancarrow; her experience on Broadway and working on the Broadway musical, Bless you all.

Jones on Last supper at Uncle Tom's cabin/The promised land; her feelings about teaching aerobics; working with Nancy Hauser; joining the board of trustees of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company; the Minnesota Dance Alliance; the University of Minnesota; her work with Molly Russell Davies.
