- A twentieth-century engraving by E. Doisteau after the original Le bon genre print of circa 1817. A man in a pierrot costume steadying a candlestick, on a table, upon which is balanced a woman in Empire dress. She stands on her left foot, while her right leg is contorted back behind her so that it touches her face. A small boy in pierrot costume walks on his hands on a mat nearby, while a mother and daughter stand at the side about to give the performers money.
