Summary

Lecture-demonstration on the art of mime, Part I: Illusion and space. Brief definition of mime given. Various stylized exercises illustrating the concepts of illusion and space are demonstrated: the balloon, sword swallower wire walker, up and down stairs, the sleeping eagle; and various walks, including the illusion walk, slave walk, wooden walk, etc. Brief interview with juggler Michael Moschen is followed by a demonstration of his juggling skill. Program concludes with a performance by Belmont and Stolzenberg of The wallpaperers, conceived by Stolzenberg with theme music by Wade Ripka.
