Summary
Gloria Marina, dance faculty member at The Juilliard School, teaches classical Spanish dance ("escuela bolera"), flamenco, and regional dances of Spain. Born of Spanish parents in Argentina, she became a professional ballet and Spanish dancer in her native country. In 1964, she and her family came to the U.S., seeking better opportunities. She discusses their struggle to find employment, raising her four boys in a new culture and language; helping to support the family by teaching dance.
