Summary
Dance educator Bruce King describes the origins of his theories about dance education - physical freedom without fear, and large undisturbed areas to run in as a child; his realization that he wanted to be a dancer, and that college did not provide that training; his studies with the San Francisco Ballet and in New York with a number of modern dance teachers, the most influential being Hanya Holm, Alwin Nikolais, and Katherine Litz; audience communication; the growth of creativity through communication; teaching children. Tapes of Bruce King working with 1st and 5th graders in Brooklyn are shown and he discusses his plans for future workshops and tours.
