Summary
A documentary on Mudra-Afrique, an African dance school in Dakar, Senegal, founded under the auspices of President Leopold Sedar Senohor and Maurice Bejart, directed by Germaine Acogny, and funded by UNESCO & the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Shows classes in ballet and modern dance, African dance, vocal music, and drum technique. Explains the origins of the school and the reasons for its inception. Typical scenes of Senegal life and excerpts from Mudra-Afrique performances are shown.
