Summary
After an introduction by Walter Terry, Lavinia Williams and her daughter, Sara Yarborough, speak about their dance experiences in Guyana and Haiti. Ms. Williams discusses the school she established in Guyana and her extensive teaching experiences in Haiti. She demonstrates basic Guyanese and African dance steps, then discusses the art of making folk dances into interesting stage works.
