Summary
Tina Ramirez, director of Ballet Hispanico of New York, was born in Caracas, Venezuela; came to New York at age seven where she started ballet and tap; lived in Spain during her teen years. She differentiates between flamenco and other Spanish regional dances; describes ballet classes with Chester Hale; teaching Spanish dance after her own teacher, Lola Bravo, retired and left her the School of Flamenco Dance; discusses her company, their present plans for performances, and requirements for company members.
