- SUMMARY: Ballet teacher Maria Fay teaches a ballet class to a group of professional dancers (Julie Cunningham, Caroline Humpston, Martin James, Janette Mulligan, Pascal Sevajols, and Naomi Sorkin). In conversation with dance historian and critic Fernau Hall, Madame Fay analyses the exercises which are based on the Vaganova system and explains the structure of the class which includes warm-up, barre, stretching, and center exercises, and concludes with manège, gentlemen's steps, grand allegro, and finishing enchaînement. The class is accompanied by pianist/composer John Gunter.
