- Videotaped during the conference session entitled The Rite reinterpreted, Sat., Nov. 7, 1987, 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Bruno Walter Auditorium, Library and Museum of the Performing Arts, New York. The conference was presented Nov. 5-7 by the Dance Critics Association with the Dance Collection, New York Public Library and with funds provided by the New York Council for the Humanities. Project director: Jonnie Green. Project coordinators: Lynn Garafola and Joan Acocella. Videotaped by Virginia Brooks.

Illustrated with slide transparencies. - Massine's American Rite, 1930. Speakers: Deborah Jowitt, Eleanor King, Bessie Schönberg, Anna Sokolow, and Lily Mehlman-Rady. Ms. Jowitt interviews the panelists about their experiences as cast members of the 1930 production of The rite of spring which included Martha Graham as the chosen maiden. The screening of Massine's Rite of spring which was a part of this session is not included on the videotape. The film is available for viewing at the Dance Collection, New York Public Library.
