- Set design for Antony Tudor's ballet Offenbach in the underworld, premiered by Ballet Theatre, April 18, 1956.
- A fashionable Parisian cafe of the 1870's is rendered in an opulent manner. The stage is framed by massive gold curtains, draped across the top of the proscenium. Black caryatids holding lights stand on either side. A bar occupies upstage center with figures of a female attendant and a waiter to the left. Doors on either side of bar lead to interior rooms. Windows with red curtains, potted palms and an elaborate chandelier are part of the period decor. Chairs and tables flank the dance area with customers watching the performance. Dancer in a white dress stands on pointe at center stage, holding her partner's hand. Slightly to their right, a dancer in rose is supported in arabesque by a man in evening clothes.
