Note
  • Inscribed lower right: Nora Kaye. Rosella Hightower. Upper right: star. Costume design for principal role of the Operetta Star in Antony Tudor's ballet Offenbach in the underworld, premiered by Ballet Theatre, April 18, 1956.
  • Two views of the same costume are shown, one from the front and the other from the back. Pink dress has low, ruffled neckline and a rose of a deeper shade at the breast. Top is fitted below the hips with diagonal ruffles gathered to the left, forming the skirt. More roses cascading down left side, front and back. The women wear headpieces, necklaces, and long white goves. Pencil sketches of women's heads appear between the full length figures and to the right, indicating hair styles and the headpieces. A small detail of the costume raised to indicate ruffles and roses under the skirt is drawn in pencil lower center. The word "velveteen" is written next to bodice of the figure on the left, and the words "under silk" appear beneath her right arm.
