- Signed: R.R. Bouché lower right under United Scenic Artists stamp. Inscribed lower left: Offenbach. Can can girl no. 4. Costume design for Antony Tudor's ballet Offenbach in the underworld, premiered by Ballet Theatre, April 18, 1956.
- Female figure, full length, is shown in can can pose, balanced on left foot, turned out, with right leg bent at knee and raised. Her hands are holding up her skirt, revealing her legs in black stockings and red garters, and the ruffled white underside of her costume. Her brown dress has a single strap over left shoulder with ruffles set diagonally from left to under left arm. Her head is turned in profile to the left and she wears a red bonnet with a wide blue band over the crown ending in a large bow behind her head. A smaller sketch of the same figure appears upper left, seen facing front with a plum colored jacket over the costume. The jacket is fitted to waist and has a peplum. The collar and closing are outlined in black fur. She also wears the bonnet, shown from full-face. A small ink drawing of the outline of the dress in profile appears between the two colored renderings.
