- Summary
- Virginia Doris, nicknamed "Winkie," recalls her early dance training, including ballet classes with Mikhail Mordkin, summers at Jacob's Pillow, and modern dance with Hanya Holm. Under her maiden name Virginia Bosler, she danced in many musical comedies and films, among them Bloomer girl, Brigadoon, and Oklahoma! After a period of retirement she began to study Labanotation, and has notated important works by George Balanchine and Donald McKayle.
