- Description
- 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
- Summary
- Shalom Hermon, a leading figure in the development of Israeli folk dancing, looks back upon its origins and growth. He traces its roots to the dances of Jewish and other ethnic groups that immigrated to Israel, and the conscious effort to revive the dance festivals (e.g., Shavuot, Feast of the Tabernacle) mentioned in the Bible. Formerly Israel's supervisor of physical education, he is now retired, but remains responsible for dance education in the schools.
