- Inscribed across the top of design: I partie Mozart/le prince/l'amour/1er acte. Inscribed lower left: Borovsky. Inscribed lower right: Shabelewsky. Fabric swatches are attached. Also, additional sheet (28 x 21 cm.) with annotations in French for construction is joined to design.
- Costume rendering for First movement : sunrise of George Balanchine's Mozart violin concerto, premiered August 7, 1942 by Ballet of the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires.
- Depicted are two male figures, facing front with arms raised and heads turned in profile to the center. Costume on left is burgundy tights and fitted top with high neck. Yellow sleeveless tunic with burgundy vein design. Burgundy skull cap. Worn by Michel Borovsky. Costume on right is identical design in dark blue with pink tunic. Worn by Yurek Shabelewsky.
