Preceded by a brief statement by Alvin Ailey, glimpses of Marjorie Perces and Ana Marie Forsythe teaching classes in Horton technique, and biographical information on Lester Horton, illustrated by still photographs. At the end of the program a Horton family tree, listing company members from the years 1928-1952, teachers, and choreographers, appears over a 1936 b&w film excerpt of Horton's The beloved, danced by Bella Lewitzky and Brahm van den Berg.
