Summary
Documentary on Armenian folk dancing, primarily in the U.S. Gary Lind-Sinanian, acting director of the Armenian Library and Museum in Watertown, Massachusetts, discusses various aspects of Armenian folk dancing, and he and his wife Susan are seen leading a class and learning dances from first-generation immigrants. Armenian-Americans are seen dancing at informal gatherings and in social clubs, both in the traditional fashion favored by the older generation and in the newer style evolving among younger people. The Garni Armenian Folk Ensemble and the Sayat Nova Dance Company offer examples of dances in traditional costumes.
