- SUMMARY: Videotaped in the studio on April 9, 1981 by D. A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus. Class in early modern dance technique, taught by Gertrude Shurr, with the help of two demonstrators. The class consists exclusively of floor work and emphasizes the use of contraction and release. Throughout the class Shurr refers to Martha Graham's teaching, stressing the expressional qualities of the movements. The tape ends before the conclusion of the class.
