- SUMMARY: Videotaped on April 11, 1981 by D. A. Pennebaker. Excerpts from a presentation by Selma Jeanne Cohen and Thomas Lask. Lask's discussion of the political climate of the 1930s is followed by Cohen's analysis of its effects on choreographers of the time, particularly Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, and Helen Tamiris. Lask's commentary on the period's literature is cut off before its conclusion. A section of the question-and-answer period following the presentation is shown.
