Summary

Documentary on the deterioration of books, paper, and other materials (film, sound recordings, still photographs, and advanced technologies) in present-day libraries and archives, emphasizing the need for stringent conservation measures. The discussion also touches upon the growing use of electronic media, and issues of access to electronically transmitted information.
