Summary

Guests are David White, executive director of Dance Theater Workshop; Barbara Hauptman, director of operations of Theatre Development Fund; and Ivan Sygoda, director of Pentacle. They discuss some of the problems of running a dance company, and suggest some sources of assistance, among them Pentacle's services in fiscal and payroll management and publicity, and Theatre Development Fund's aid in developing audiences. Hauptman, the former manager of Twyla Tharp and Dancers, cites that company's experiences as an example of using available support systems and setting priorities in order to reach a goal. In Esoterica balletica, Betty Low tells an anecdote about touring with the Original Ballet Russe.
