Summary
Dancers/choreographers Valerie Bettis and Pauline Koner reminisce about the pioneering years of television dance in the 1940s and 50s. They describe the challenges of creating for and adapting to the new medium, coping with difficult working conditions, experimenting with special effects, and learning to exploit the unique qualities of television. A b&w excerpt of Concertino in A major, choreographed and performed by Koner, concludes the program. In the commentary Esoterica balletica, Betty Low discusses tights.
