- Description
- 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
- Summary
- Guests are choreographer/director Ed Kresley; television director Philip Gay; and dancer Janet Eilber, formerly a member of the Martha Graham Dance Company. They compare their experiences in working with different forms of film and video dance, including public television, cable television, and promotional videos. Eilber describes an interactive cable television project in which the audience shared in the choreographic process of an improvisatory piece. The guests also discuss working with different choreographers, among them Martha Graham and Marge Champion, and conjecture about the future of film and video dance. Samples of each guest's work are shown during the program: Kresley's Dance in my pants; Eilber's Jabberwocky, to a poem by Lewis Carroll; and Gay's The dancer. In the commentary Esoterica balletica, Betty Low talks about the fifteenth-century dancing master Guglielmo Ebreo.
