Muriel Topaz, executive director of the Dance Notation Bureau; Tom Brown, notator and reconstructor; and dancer/choreographer Phoebe Neville discuss the process of notating and reconstructing choreography. As an example they cite Neville's recent experience in performing in Brown's reconstruction of Doris Humphrey's Day on earth. They also discuss Ernestine Stodelle's reconstruction of Humphrey's Two ecstatic themes. A b&w excerpt shows Stodelle coaching Neville in this work. In Esoterica balletica, attorney Timothy DeBaets explains why choreographers should have a will.
