- Summary
- William Hammond and Robert Yesselman, respectively managers of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and the Paul Taylor Dance Company, discuss the problems, mainly financial, that face managers of dance companies today. Topics covered include touring, television and video appearances, the need to protect the artistic freedom of the choreographer(s), the advantages and disadvantages of having a second home, and the difficulties of finding financial support. In Esoterica balletica, Frederic Franklin tells anecdotes of his interactions with George Balanchine during his tenure with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, particularly in the production of Jeu de cartes.
