Summary
Guests are Derek Hart, writer/producer of the film Backstage at the Kirov, and director Rachel Feldman and choreographer Carl Tillmanns, who collaborated on the film short Wunderkind. They discuss the making of their respective films, particularly the technical and financial problems they encountered. Two excerpts from Backstage at the Kirov are shown, the first featuring Altynai Asylmuratova in a rehearsal and performance of Swan lake. An excerpt from Wunderkind features Christopher Gillis and others. In Esoterica balletica, Kathy Rose talks about incorporating cinematic animation into live performances, which she demonstrates in a film excerpt.
