Summary
Dancer/choreographers Bertram Ross and Lotte Goslar discuss their own special approaches to dance. Ross, a former principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, speaks of Graham's rehearsals as a learning experience. Goslar recalls teaching Marilyn Monroe, and praises her talents as a comedienne. Other subjects include: today's overemphasis on technical facility, resulting in a loss of soul; how choreographers can develop their dancers' individuality; and stage fright. Ross tells how he developed the role of Raymond Duncan, Isadora's brother, for his solo Raymond, an excerpt of which is shown. In conclusion, Goslar performs A little heap of misery, accompanied by pianist Richard Mercier.
