- 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col. with b&w sequence; 3/4 in.
- Summary
- In separate interviews, choreographers Donald Byrd and Eleo Pomare talk about the issues they confront in their work, and the means through which they try to communicate their ideas. Other topics include his interest in pop culture, especially punk, and his collaboration with the Living Theatre company. Pomare discusses his belief in dance as a product of its culture, his reputation as an angry young rebel in the 60s, and the origins of his Blues in the jungle. An excerpt of his work Roots, performed by Dyane Harvey, closes the program. In Esoterica balletica, Daniel Lewis discusses two works by José Limón: The unsung, his tribute to Native Americans, and The winged.
