1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
Summary
Dancers Carey Erickson, Jean-Pierre Frohlich, and David Howard discuss how severe injuries affected not only their performing capacity but aspects of mental well-being, such as self-image. They also note, however, positive effects such as an improved sense of body awareness and better coordination. Howard, a well-known ballet teacher, tells how his new approach to teaching was developed after his injury. The guests also discuss how to prevent recurrence of injuries. In Esoterica balletica, Dowd, a specialist in neuromuscular training, describes a better way for dancers to "pull up."
