- Description
- 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
- Summary
- Remy Charlip and Elaine Summers, choreographers who have worked extensively with film and video, discuss their experiments with space, audience placement, and the relation of choreography and the visual arts in both live and recorded performances. Charlip describes his air mail dances, drawings that can be freely reconstructed into dances, and Summers compares the different qualities of film and video. Works discussed include Summers' Fantastic gardens (1964) and Charlip's various Towel dances. Excerpts are shown from Summers' Skydance/skytime (music: Carman Moore, sculpture: Otto Piene), and Charlip's Glowworm, Dance in a bed, and Etude, produced by WGBH-TV. In Esoterica balletica, William Starrett gives some tips to dancers embarking on bus tours.
