Summary
Donna Wood, a principal dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Helgi Tomasson, who has performed with the Joffrey, Harkness, and New York City Ballet companies, share their observations of working with different choreographers and different dance forms and styles. Tomasson, who has also choreographed, compares the different viewpoints of dancer and choreographer. Wood is seen in a recorded excerpt, performing in Louis Johnson's Fontessa and friends. In Esoterica balletica, William Starrett describes and demonstrates some gadgets that dancers can use for relaxation or strengthening exercises and massage.
