Summary
Dancer/choreographer Martha Partridge and chiropractor Loretta French discuss some of the problems facing dancers who need medical care, the links between specific injuries and certain techniques or choreographers, and some treatments and precautionary measures. Much of the discussion focuses on lower back problems; French also displays a strapping that can be used for ankle injuries. An excerpt of Partridge's choreography for Lady and complete gentleman is screened, and she is seen dancing in Rocks with David Parsons. In Esoterica balletica, Marijeanne Liederbach describes her research on the physical abilities of dancers, and demonstrates some tests with the help of dancer Annette Bressie.
