Summary
Choreographers Eric Barsness, Diane Martel, and Debra Wanner talk about their works, which often involve elements of humor or exaggeration. Their discussion is illustrated by excerpts of some of the works in question: Barsness's Blood on the keys, a "docu-drama" based on the life of Chopin, and two works by Martel, Queenie and Lucifer. Wanner, who discusses her ongoing work Mutt, is seen performing a solo from Stephanie Skura's Survey of styles. Other topics include working processes, the use of text, and influences on their work. Continuing the theme of humor, Esoterica balletica features Judy Trupin of the Extrapolating Movement Theater in a performance piece on the theme of time-saving.
