Summary
Two dancers turned teachers, Jim Clinton of the José Limón Dance Company and Francesca Corkle of the Joffrey Ballet, discuss the ways in which dancers cope with pain and injuries. They draw examples from their own experiences and share advice that they give to their students. Dance excerpts depict Clinton's performances in Limón's Emperor Jones and Carlos Orta's El ultimo canto. In Esoterica balletica, Irene Dowd describes, with the help of demonstrator Marilyn Kraus, some therapeutic exercises for a foot injury.
